The Importance of Regular Auto Maintenance

According to AAA, the average cost of a car repair runs between $400 and $600. Moreover, AAA found that one-third of all car owners choose to neglect recommended service to their vehicles. Maintaining the factory’s recommended service will help you avoid more costly repairs down the line. Oil changes are one of the simplest maintenance procedures you can do, yet more people choose to drive longer than recommended between oil changes.

Other fluids, like brake fluid, anti-freeze, and power steering fluid, need to be replenished because they break down over time. Once their effectiveness drops, it can cause significant damage that could otherwise be avoided. Tires are another part people tend to ignore. Rotating your tires is important for even wear. Proper inflation will prevent uneven wear, improve gas mileage, and increase traction.

At Okoboji Motor Company, we believe taking care of the little things like regular factory recommended service will, in turn, help you avoid those large repair costs due to neglect.

Quick Lube Oil Change

You can stop in at Okoboji Motor Company’s’ Quick Lube Oil Change facility and receive what we call PDQ, which stands for Prompt Dependable Quality. Our friendly, knowledgeable technicians will not only change your oil and filter, but will top off your vehicle’s other fluids, lubricate your suspension, check your brakes, and inspect your engine and cabin air filters.

You’ll also get a comprehensive 27-point vehicle inspection. If we find any issues we will bring them to your attention. Our technicians at either of our two service facilities can handle anything quickly, getting you back on the road in no time.

What Insurance Does Our Body Shop Accept?

At the Okoboji Motor Company Collision Center, we’ll work with any insurance company, but we are the preferred provider for 14 insurance companies. Our six-step repair process will give you peace of mind knowing your vehicle will be fixed right the first time.

Okoboji Motor Company Auto Body Repair Process

Step 1: Initial Contact

Your first step is to meet with one of our customer service representatives. He or she will ask you some basic questions regarding the accident and any insurance coverage you may have and then provide you with a free estimate. We will also discuss rental car options and answer any insurance questions you may have.

Step 2: Free Estimate

While you meet with our CSR we will take your vehicle into our shop and perform a detailed inspection of the vehicle’s damage. Our methodology is similar to that of a pit-crew when we inspect your vehicle. Our team will disassemble some surface damaged parts and look for any underlying damage that might make your vehicle unsafe to drive.

After a thorough examination, we will upload our findings into our estimating software to produce the most accurate estimate possible. This process also shortens repair times. Only after we provide you with a detailed review of our free estimate and explain the repair process in detail will you have the option to move forward with the repairs.

Step 3: Metal Repair

After you agree to our free estimate our certified technicians will begin disassembling your damaged parts. They will do a thorough inspection of any underlying parts and connections, down to the frame if necessary, to guarantee there are no poorly fitting parts and you get your vehicle back looking the way it should.

Our certified technicians will then repair or replace all your damaged metal parts according to OEM specifications. After completing the repairs they will then prep the vehicle for painting.

Step 4: Painting Your Vehicle

Once your vehicle is received into our in-house paint facility we will prep the surface to be painted for a smooth factory-like finish. Our paint technicians will expertly protect areas that should be protected from any paint before applying the OEM specified paint.

Step 5: Buffing and Reassembly

After the paint has cured we will buff out any minor imperfections and if necessary send the parts back to the shop to be reassembled. The technician will inspect for color and fit, and then take the vehicle for a test drive to ensure everything fits and works properly.

Step 6: Complimentary Detailing

Once we’re sure your vehicle is repaired properly we then perform a complimentary detailing of your vehicle. We put a high shine on both the inside and out so you get back your car like it was when you first drove it off the lot.
